Astrologic Observer is a python3/tkinter "desktop" application designed to assist astrologers of all experience levels evaluate planetary strength. It offers a different perspective from the wheel or square chart types most commonly used. With traditional charts insights are only perceptible for only the static moment of the event. Astroligic Observer instead offers context; believing the conditions that surround the event offer important insights for interpretation/ delineations.
Traditional considerations like Fast, Slow, Bright and Dim are vividly brought to life. Understand the station points in Retrograde Cycles in exciting new ways, and armed with a newfound awareness of the full breadth of planetary motion, expand the interpretive materials you're working with to inspire a whole new range of delineations.
From the reference date entered, Astrologic Observer evaluates the conditions of Visibility, Magnitude and Speed of the selected planet for that precise time and locations, for the six months both before and after.
That depends! For Mars it absolutely is!
However, if it were Venus, she 's never that dull.
Visualize changes in SECT, with dynamic changes to the background color.
Theme relative values like Magnitude, Speed and Visibility in the sky. Display planetary position in Ecliptic Latitude or Declination.
Easily reference classical Essential Dignity of the placements and identifies the dispositing lords of Domocile, Triplicity, Bounds and Decan.
Easily discern Easterly/Westerly position relative to the MC.
Diagrammatic placement of the SUN and selected planet aid in differentiating when the planet is invisible because its not within the limits of scotopic vision, or just beneath the horizon.
Precise zodiacal longitudes with other consideration of Accidental Dignity are provided to assist in judgment of planetary strength.
Enter event data from 1 CE to 9999 CE for custom events. Save to file and reload latter. Accepts Lat/Lon inputs in +/- decimal degrees or degree, arc-minutes, arc-seconds.
Visualize changes in the selected planetary characteristics as you explore its movement through time. Set the desired unit of movement, and use the simple Forward/Backward buttons.
